The antenna operates from 37GHz to 42GHz in the Ka band and is built from aluminum for light weight and good durability. As a Dual Circular Polarization Horn, it uses a dielectric or metal septum polarizer to convert linear polarization directly to pure circular polarization, either left hand or right hand. The septum is mounted on the horn aperture, making the structure very simple. This design avoids the need for complex waveguide orthomode transducers and hybrid couplers. The antenna features a precision 2.4mm K type connector for high frequency operation.
