Product Introduction In an oil-injected screw compressor the lubricant does two jobs at once. It seals the gap between the rotors, and it carries heat out of the air end. Both jobs depend on the oil arriving clean. This screw compressor oil filter sits in the pressure line after the oil cooler and before the bearings, and it is the last barrier the oil passes before it reaches the rotor. Metal fines from gear wear, carbon from hot spots and varnish from aged lubricant collect in the media instead of travelling further into the machine. Inside the canister, pleated media is wrapped around a perforated centre tube and held by bonded end caps. Pleating packs a large filtering surface into a short body, which keeps pressure drop low while the element is still fresh. A gasket at the base seals against the housing seat, so oil cannot slip past the media and reach the bearings unfiltered.
