ASTM A325 Hex Structural Bolts
ASTM A325 Structural Bolts are a specialized heavy type of Hex Bolt intended for use in large structures, such as
buildings and bridges. This bolt is designed to withstand the loads of steel-to-steel structural connections. They contain a flat, washer-faced bearing surface and a chamfered thread point. Galvanized plating protects the bolt from corrosion; typically used in outdoor applications.
There are different types of Astm F3125 Grade A325 Bolts such as the type 1, 2, 3, T and M. The type 2 is withdrawn and obsolete but the others have different properties and are in use. Each of these bolts also has different connections types as well. The A325 Bolts type 3 bolts are made up of weathering steels. The weathering steel made bolts don’t need coating as the surface become oxidized and the patina acts as a coating against corrosion.
