Modal is a type of rayon made using a modified process, resulting in a fiber that is stronger and more stable when wet than standard viscose. It is exceptionally soft and is often found in high-quality t-shirts, underwear, and bed sheets. Lyocell (often marketed under the brand name Tencel) is produced through a more modern, environmentally responsible closed-loop solvent process. It is renowned for its exceptional strength (both wet and dry), softness, and excellent moisture absorption.
