It allows for coexistence with humans and is mainly used to kill airborne bacteria, viruses, and mold spores, and inhibit aerosol transmission. Regarding lamp life, traditional 254nm lamps last 8000-9000 hours; 222nm excimer lamps last 3000-6000 hours. Ozone-free and ozone-free versions are available.
