Design Inspiration & Background
In the thousand-year history of the Silk Road, the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907 AD) witnessed an unprecedented prosperity in cultural development and extremely frequent exchanges between China and foreign countries. The Silk Road of the Tang Dynasty was an important bridge connecting East-West trade and cultural exchanges. Starting from Chang'an, the distant camel bells spread to the Hexi Corridor, passed through Central Asia and West Asia, and finally reached Europe.
When it comes to cultural exchanges in the Tang Dynasty, Xuanzang's pilgrimage to the West is undoubtedly a household legend. In the third year of Zhenguan (629 AD), Xuanzang set off from Chang'an, passed through Qinzhou (north of present-day Tianshui, Gansu), Lanzhou, and arrived westward at Liangzhou and other places.
