One-Step TUNEL Apoptosis Detection Kit (green Fluorescence)

When cells undergo apoptosis, some DNA endonucleases are activated, and these endonucleases cut the genome DNA between nucleosomes.   DNA fragments of 180 bP-200 bP are produced, which are characterized by a specific ladder pattern in agarose gel electrophoresis.   When the DNA double strand or single strand of the genome is broken, a large number of sticky 3'-OH ends will be produced, which can be transferred to the 3'-OH ends of deoxyribonucleotides.   Under the catalytic action of terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT), it combines with fluorescently labeled dUTP, and thus can be directly detected by fluorescence microscopy or flow cytometry.   The detection of apoptotic cells is called Terminal-deoxynucleotidil transferase mediated nick end labelling (TUNEL).
