Introduction
In ductile iron, sulphur is not a minor impurity - it is the element that consumes your magnesium. Every point of sulphur that arrives with the carburizer has to be neutralised by nodulising alloy before any magnesium is left to spheroidise the graphite. This is why a carburizer that works perfectly in grey iron can quietly ruin a ductile iron heat.
What it is
This is the low-sulphur version of our columnar carburizer. The graphite base is selected for low sulphur and low nitrogen, then extruded into dense cylinders so the material sinks through the slag instead of floating on it. Low sulphur at the source means less nodulising alloy consumed per heat and a more predictable residual magnesium.
